Egg Hunt ReDux

There were still more eggs left over deep in the jungle.
The warriors of Hive Fester were sent by the Hive mind to recover their chocolate young. Frankie was sent in support. The indigenous were no match for their bio-weapons.
Dez's swarms flew in and began massing in the ruins.
The first sign of opposition was sighted. Grotesque spawn-things lurching about, consuming any egg that they encountered.
The snake was resisting the Hive mind, but it soon fell to devourer beetles.

Veterans from the first Egg Hunt, Wolfram's plague marines began a sequenced search of the area.
The daemon prince spots the tyranid swarms and sends a psykic call into the warp.
The gargoyles take aim at the spawns, causing little damage.
Daemons began appearing. Flamers scorched a wave of gargoyles, but there was still more than enough left.
Firing the occasional strangler shot, the warriors of Fester collected eggs.
Frankie sees daemonettes appearing, and tries to stay out of their sight. The warriors behind him try to get line of sight...
Dez's gaunts happily fill up their egg bucket, having missed the last Egg Hunt.

Having eaten the spawns, the gaunts receive the attentions of the deamon prince, who had just finished off the gargoyles. (Along with massed bolter fire...)
Having left the shrikes alone, they attempted to get to grips with the plague marines. Plague marines do not fall easy...
Hidden from most of the fighting, Dez's broodlord began leading his swarm into the untouched, and egg rich, corner of the board.
Frankie's old adversary, Lilith, showed up spraying him with shooting.
Frankie responded with repeated clubbing of his claws.
She, in turn, exploded. The carnifex would carry his wound proudly.
The plague marines finally got to grips with the gaunts, who had used massed poison attacks to bring down their leader. Plague marines don't die, the gaunts did.
The warriors closed in on the deamons, shooting the entire time to thin their numbers.
The large bugs were able to deal much more damage than their targets, although Brain Bug went down.
The other warriors were sneaking up on the plague marines, who were slightly fewer in number.
Eggs were won. Eggs were eaten. Eggs were corrupted.
Good Game.
